There has been a lot of criticism in recent years about the way politicians have been marketed. What are some of the ways marketing has helped the political process in the U.S.? What are some ways the marketing of politicians might have an adverse effect on the U.S.? Overall, what is your opinion of political marketing?

Many not-for-profit and religious organizations have found that they can achieve their non-business goals by marketing their ideas. How is the marketing of ideas similar to and different from the marketing of goods and services by for-profit businesses? Do you think it is ethical for churches and other charitable organizations to spend money on marketing? Why or why not? Use at least one specific example to illustrate your points.
